Used across several of our luxury bed linen sets, silk is highly valued thanks to its high protein content that benefit the skin and hair, by not absorbing moisture and helping to keep hair glossy and skin soft.

The silk fibre is very strong while being incredibly soft but it is still a delicate fabric so must be treated with care. Silk, like wool and linen, requires a more delicate cleaning regime than cotton – one that requires gentle detergents and lower temperature wash cycles. Gingerlily silk bed linen is machine washable at 30°c using mild silk detergent. We recommend Liquid Silk Wash. For darker coloured bed linen, we advise washing the pillowcases and duvet covers inside out. Line dry or tumble dry on a very low temperature/cycle and iron on a medium heat to restore the sheen and softness to the product. For more detailed information, please visit our Blog.
